Discover the Bungalow Interior Design Client Experience

“I feel supported, informed, and a part of the process without feeling overwhelmed.”

We had been using our client portal for almost a year when we heard this comment from a client. Wanting to know more about their positive experience we asked WHY they felt like this. Then they proceeded to tell us about all of the wonderful things we had spent almost a year perfecting, from how their expectations were managed effectively, to how informed they felt, and how smoothly the design process had progressed.

That felt GOOD.

You see, in early 2023 we were feeling like things just weren’t where we wanted them to be operationally. We had started Bungalow Interior Design with the intent of providing an elevated, customized, supportive client experience and it just wasn’t meeting our expectations yet. On top of that, our operational methods needed to be more streamlined and we needed to cut down on wasted time so that we could re-invest that time into our design projects.

Halfway through the year we ended up working with a local marketing company that used the program we now use and we loved the idea of providing that level of service to our own clients. We researched similar programs but kept coming back to the original one we had encountered. It offered the best customization options because while we wanted to streamline things and implement standard operating procedures, we still wanted every client to receive a customized experience.

Our client portal has allowed us to:

  • Streamline our operations and make sure that we’re providing the same high level of service to all of our clients

  • Give our clients the opportunity to feel more control over the process by booking appointments that work with their schedules

  • Have all project details and communication in one centralized place

  • Establish mutually agreed upon expectations with clients

  • Take back some of our time so we can re-invest it into our design projects.

DESIGN CONCEPTS

After documenting the your home through measurements, photos, and video, we have a project kickoff meeting to present early design concepts.

We start with inspiration images for each space, followed by early 2D and 3D concepts, and ask questions to gather feedback.

This method works really well because we send you the file after we meet, you have a chance to discuss everything privately before responding, and we gather feedback in quiz form making it really easy to respond to our questions.

When you submit each file we send the portal then sends us a recap of your responses so we can get started on any revisions. Easy peasy!

FINISHES, FIXTURES + EQUIPMENT

As we work through the design process we repeat the file above, showing you materials in person, curating finishes, fixtures, and equipment, and asking for feedback along the way until we’ve come to a design plan that you love.

After this we develop the preliminary drawings far enough that our trade partners can quote accurately on building the design plan.

PROJECT COSTS

After trade day we collect quotes and enter them into a project quote document, giving you information about each component as well as options for upgrades and alternatives.

Past clients love that they can make informed choices and literally pick and choose which items work best for them. The portal sums up the items chosen and provides a summary to both you and us making it easy to keep track of your final project details.

PRE-CONSTRUCTION

After you make your final selections we prepare your project for construction by finalizing quotes with trades, creating a construction schedule, placing orders, and much more. We also send you a pre-construction document that includes trade contact information, the construction schedule, site expectations for trades, and client preparation information for before, during, and after your renovation.

We’ve had great success in supporting our clients through what is often a stressful process while making sure they’re informed and a part of the process without feeling overwhelmed.

Do you want to be well supported in your renovation too? Let’s get started.
